Sports-Related Hand Injuries

Prof. Sauerbier has over 30 years’ experience in the treatment of athletes suffering from hand injuries. The consultation and treatment of professional, competitive, and hobby athletes is carried out with great care and tailored to the needs of each individual. In particular, fractures of the hand and wrist (e.g. scaphoid fractures), ligament injuries, and triangular fibrocartilage complex (TFCC) injuries are frequently diagnosed and treated. These injuries occur during the full range of sports-related activities, such as tennis, golf, soccer, handball, volleyball, basketball, cycling, skiing, and snowboarding, etc.

If operative treatment of a sports-related injury is required, an early rehabilitation plan will be created in cooperation with a hand therapist.
