About Plastic and Hand Surgery
Plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery is one of eight surgical disciplines designated as an independent specialist field. To obtain a specialisation in this field, at least six years of training is required.
The qualification as a specialist hand surgeon can be obtained following the completion of specialisation training as part of an additional two-year course (also known as hand surgery).
Prof. Sauerbier is a regular examiner of plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery specialisation candidates and for the additional hand surgery qualification for the State Medical Association in Hesse, Germany.
