In connection with scientific publications and articles, the term “peer review” is often used. Peers are professional colleagues who, thanks to their expertise and professional competence, are able to evaluate scientific communication in the form of journal articles. This form of review is an essential quality control tool when publishing scientific research and its results.
Prof. Dr. Dr. Sauerbier regularly works as a reviewer for scientific journals from renowned publishers such as Thieme, Springer or John Wiley & Sons.

Prof. Sauerbier is also the chief editor of the German-language standard textbook of the book “Die Handchirurgie” published by Elsevierverlag 2015 under the patronage of the DGH and of the English-language textbook “Problems in Hand Surgery” published by Thieme Verlag in 2020.
Furthermore, Prof. Sauerbier is co-editor of the German-language magazine “Handchirurgie Scan”, which is published quarterly by Thieme Verlag. Prof. Sauerbier is currently working on a 2nd edition of the textbook “Die Handchirurgie” together with the editorial teams and the Elsevier publishing house. The book is scheduled to appear 2023/2024.
